The London 4 Hour Work Week (4HWW) Meetup Group
The London 4HWW meetup group is a group of individuals who meet up each month to discuss life, business and challenging the "accepted norm" of going to University, working fulltime till your 65 and then (hopefully) retiring. Whilst some of the attendees are looking to free up more time in their life to focus on things they enjoy, others are just interested in increasing productivity or designing their lifestyle so they are no longer trading their time for money. For some people their ultimate aim might be travelling the world, whilst for others it might be mastering a sport, spending more time with their family or sailing the mediterranean. Whilst the aims of most the attendees differ there are many common techniques and lessons learnt from others in the group that we discuss and you can use yourself. These can help you become more focussed, productive and ultimately have more time to follow your passions!
Most of the attendees are currently from the technical community in London due to the popularity of Tim Ferriss's 4 Hour Work Week book which spread through blogs and twitter. That said, we're not exclusive and we encourage people from all career paths to attend the monthly meeting - the most common feedback we hear about the group relate to it being a useful forum for exchanging ideas, networking and inspiring to break out of the 9-5 rat run. Come along at the time and place listed below and say hello.
Meeting format
Each month we discuss something different with the themes loosly lifted from the book - productivity, mini-retirements, outsourcing, finding niches - although we sometimes divert into other interesting areas. If it's your first time to the group it helps if you've read (or are reading) the book although this isn't mandatory.
It envisaged to run the group like this for a few months until it grows to a size where we can validate a more formal presentation then pub for discussion format (rather than just pub for discussion format).

We meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm in The Plumbers Arms in Victoria (google map) in the upstairs room. Details of each months event can be found on the meetup page where you can register for the event. Details are also announced on twitter through the account @4hwwlondon
